"Canon T5i Camera Review"

After extensive research I have determined that the Canon T5i is the DSLR camera that I would purchase. The Canon T5i is an inexpensive DSLR camera that can take incredible photos and gives you plenty of "bang for your buck". The T5i measures 5.2 x 3.9 x 3.1 inches with a rounded rectangular body topped by an elongated pentamirror/built-in flash housing and a deeply sculpted handgrip at the right front of the camera. The T5i has 18 megapixel resolution an expanded ISO range up to 25,600. While these specifications aren't unique to DSLR cameras, what is unusual is the price. At just $699 for the body alone or $850-$1150 for packages that include different lenses, the cost of the T5i is significantly less than other comparable DSLR cameras which makes it an extremely attractive purchase. This camera is equipped with an auto focus motor which the entry level Nikon DSLRs don't have including the Nikon 3200. The T5i is outfitted with the Canon EF mount system so you have over 100 lenses to choose from making the camera extremely versatile.

So, what are the key features that make the T5i the camera that I would choose?  First, its dimensions make it on the smaller end of DSLR cameras.  The small size allows it to easily be taken anywhere, a key selling point for me since I would use it in many extreme sports situations. The T5i's weight is a light 575 grams making it 40%-60% lighter than other comparable DSLR cameras, again allowing for ease of transport and use in a variety of situations. Second, the T5i is quite responsive with a top burst speed of 5 frames per second. This is a critical minimum speed for one of my intended uses, which is sports photography. Although the Canon 70D boasts a faster burst speed of 7 frames per second, it also carries a price tag of almost twice as much as the T5i.

Last summer when I was in Honolulu, Hawaii I got my PADI SCUBA certification and developed an interest in underwater photography. The ability to use a DSLR camera in underwater photography is a primary consideration for me in choosing a DSLR camera. For me, one of the best things about the Canon T5i is that both Sea & Sea and Nauticam make an incredibly priced waterproof housing for it. At $1,300 and $2,000 respectively both housings sport the ergonomics of housings that cost much more.

The Canon T5i also performs well in low light situations which makes it a great choice for photographers that like to shoot with available light. This feature also makes it ideal for underwater photography where the use of flash can tend to reduce image clarity and alter colors. Overall, the Canon T5i has the price and features that make it an ideal choice for me to get a real start in both sports and underwater photography.
